What To Look For
Inspect the quantity and quality of your gear.  Look for cracks in the sealing edge of your CPR mask.  Check the one-way valve to be sure it is operable.  Tubular webbing should be washed with a mild detergent and have no cuts, tears, or foreign material imbedded.  Be sure there is no mildew on webbing, ropes or soft gear.  Sterile packaging should be intact and not too old to insure sterile condition.  Ropes may also be washed & air dried, and they should be.  Check carabineers' for cracks, worn surfaces and gate operation.  Anything dented, scratched, or otherwise suspect should NOT be used.  Gloves should not have any sign of wear or indication that their integrity is questionable.
